Gary Hansen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University - Idaho. Shortly after graduation, Gary joined the United States Air Force where he was assigned to operations with the Strategic Command. During his Air Force service, Gary was able to hone his collection and intelligence skills as an operations intelligence analyst involved in sensitive assignments for the U.S. Forces. Gary provided sensitive intelligence and analysis to senior level decision-makers on subjects related to weapons of mass destruction, nuclear proliferation, terrorism and cyber security matters, and much more. Gary served the country on active duty for more than 10 years.
Gary received an honorable discharge from the Air Force to join the U.S. Department of Homeland Security where he worked in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (DHS CISA) helping to defend the nation’s 16 critical infrastructures from cyber-attacks. In the Health and Human Services (HHS) Cybersecurity Coordination Center (HC3), Gary provided current cyber intelligence, alerts, briefings, for the Health and Public Health Sector (HPH) to aid in their cyber resiliency. Most recently, at the Department of Defense (DOD) Cyber Crime Center (DC3). Gary assisted in the protection of our nation’s classified research data from cyber espionage and theft.
As the Director of Analysis and Support for Overwatch Security and Assessments, Gary leads a team of professional analysts while offering his own knowledge and experience to ensure actionable, timely, and relevant information is collected, prepared and delivered to the company's current and future clientele.
